The Haryana State Higher Education Council, in collaboration with SSC NASSCOM and its delivery partner SmartBridge Educational Services Pvt. Ltd., organised a one-day Google Gen AI Workshop on “Empowering Educators with Generative AI & AI-Powered Academic Productivity” on 30th July 2026 at DCRUST, Murthal. The workshop was aimed at equipping faculty members and institutional SPOCs with practical knowledge and hands-on experience in the use of Generative AI for teaching, research, assessment, curriculum development and academic administration.
The workshop was graced Prof. KC Sharma, Chairperson, HSHEC, Prof. SK Gakhar, Vice Chairperson, HSHEC, Prof. SP Singh, Vice Chancellor, DCRUST and Prof. RS Rathore, State Project Director, HSHEC. The workshop witnessed participation from faculty members and institutional SPOCs representing universities and colleges across the State.
The workshop comprised six technical sessions covering the fundamentals of Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Responsible AI, and Google’s Generative AI learning pathway. Participants received hands-on training in prompt engineering through Google’s Agent Platform, including prompt design exercises and challenge-based activities. The later sessions focused on the practical application of AI tools for lesson planning, curriculum design, research, academic documentation, assessment creation and academic workflow automation using platforms such as Google Gemini, NotebookLM, Google AI Studio, ChatGPT, Claude, Gamma, Canva AI and Perplexity AI. The sessions emphasised practical implementation through guided demonstrations and interactive exercises.
The workshop enhanced participants’ understanding of Generative AI concepts, responsible AI practices and prompt engineering techniques. Faculty members gained practical skills to develop AI-assisted teaching materials, assessments, presentations and research outputs, while also learning to integrate AI tools into routine academic and administrative workflows. The programme is expected to contribute towards developing AI-ready educators and promoting the responsible adoption of Artificial Intelligence across higher education institutions in Haryana.
The workshop served as an initial capacity-building initiative for integrating Generative AI into higher education institutions. As a follow-up, participating institutions may be encouraged to organise similar training programmes for additional faculty members, establish institutional AI user groups, and promote the use of AI tools in teaching-learning, research and academic administration. Continued collaboration with SSC NASSCOM and Google learning initiatives may also be explored to build advanced AI competencies among faculty and students across the State.
